After several such experiences, I pay attention now when I open our south-facing front door after dark. That's the sun-warmed side of the house. Historically, bats seem attracted to our porch. Maybe it's the same cave-effect as the Langley Library's entrance. - Dan<br />Dan Pedersenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12394699068556538583noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7563096034354284542.post-44468794959164594402013-05-29T00:41:56.725-07:002013-05-29T00:41:56.725-07:00I had not idea there were bats on Whidbey Island u...I had not idea there were bats on Whidbey Island until one of them almost flew into my face while I was standing in from of my apartment tonight. Scared the bejesus out of me. Interesting piece of education I found in this site about them. Can't say I'm scared of them...unless one zips at me out of nowhere at night. They are fun to watch and we have never had any incidents with them. I was under the impression they migrated, but am not sure. Is there a way I could talk to someone about them? Enjoyed your Blog, will continue to watch the sight.
